Admission to the State University of Applied Sciences in Chełm
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
International applicants must submit the following documents:
- a signed application form generated through the Internet Registration of Candidates (IRK) system;
- a written consent from the applicant’s legal guardian (for applicants under the age of 18);
- a valid passport (original for verification);
- proof of payment of the admission fee (PLN 85 or PLN 100 for programmes requiring an entrance examination);
- a medical certificate confirming that there are no health contraindications to studying in programmes where students may be exposed to hazardous or harmful factors, where applicable;
- a secondary school leaving certificate or higher education diploma entitling the holder to undertake university studies, recognised as equivalent to the relevant Polish qualification and bearing an Apostille or legalisation, where required;
- additional documents specified in the admission requirements:
Citizens of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom
are required to submit the documents specified in the table below.

Proof of Polish Language Proficiency
Applicants seeking admission to programmes taught in Polish must provide proof of Polish language proficiency in accordance with the documents specified in the Regulation of the Minister responsible for higher education.
A certificate confirming proficiency in Polish at a minimum level of B2, in accordance with the list specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, is required.
Document Confirming Eligibility for Admission to Higher Education (NAWA Statement)
From 1 July 2025, the Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) issues statements concerning secondary school leaving certificates, higher education diplomas and other documents confirming eligibility to apply for admission to higher education programmes in Poland.
The NAWA statement is issued for a specific certificate or diploma. To obtain such a statement, applicants must submit an application directly to NAWA.

For admission to first-cycle (Bachelor’s) and long-cycle Master’s programmes, applicants may also submit a decision issued under the previous regulations by the Regional Education Superintendent (Kurator Oświaty) recognising a foreign secondary school leaving certificate.
Documents issued in a language other than Polish must be accompanied by a certified translation prepared by a sworn translator entered on the official register maintained by the Polish Minister of Justice.
Entrance Examinations for International Applicants
International applicants seeking admission to first-cycle or long-cycle Master’s programmes on the basis of a foreign educational document that does not constitute a document confirming eligibility for admission to higher education within the meaning of Article 326a(1) of the Law on Higher Education and Science are required to take an entrance examination to verify the knowledge necessary to undertake studies.
